Dipl.-Inform. Univ. Martin Lacher
M.Sc.


Martin Lacher was born in Munich, Germany in 1972. He received a M.Sc./Dipl.-Inform. degree in Computer Science from Technische Universitaet Muenchen in 1998. Martin is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in computer science as an employee of the Technische Universitaet Muenchen. Martin has been a visiting scholar at Stanford University in 2001. He has been a member of the OntoAgents project in the Stanford database group. He did research on the interoperation of two ontology representation formalisms and the integration of catalogs of natural language documents, as used in many e-commerce applications.

He has also been a member of the Graduiertenkolleg 'Cooperation and Resource Management in distributed systems' at the Technische Universitaet Muenchen. As part of his membership, he received a full graduate scholarship from the DFG (German national research association).

Martin studied in New York at the City College of New York for 15 months. He received a Master's Degree in Computer Science in 1996.

For his Master's thesis, he stayed at Institut Eurecom in Sophia Antipolis, France. He has been a member of the High Speed Communications Research Group for 8 months. His field of research was reliable multicast data dissemination.
